What do I expect to learn from the coastal roots project?

I think that I helped with saving the wetlands by planting some of the seeds and also by watering some. I hope that some of the 3,000 plants grow and we can be able to plant them in the wetlands so we can save them. I don’t know what I’ll learn because I haven’t learned it yet.
But I think I might learn that you can save the wetlands by planting trees and then planting them in the wetlands.

I think I will understand better how the wetlands are going away and we need to help or the hurricanes are just gonna get worse.

I hope that we will learn how grat our planet is and how fast we are using all of our resources. They wont be here forever. And I hope that more and more people start this Costal Roots Project to save our wetlands.

We planted maple and cyprus seeds in yellow cells over a few class periods. We planted three seeds in each cell so that, hopefully, at least one will grow. Some little kids in Mrs. Brierre's class helped poke holes into the soil to plant the seeds. These seedlings will later be planted in Bayou Segnette to help the wetlands. I think this project will help raise awareness about wetland restoration throughout our grade and teach us that we all can play a role in preserving the wetlands.

I think I will learn more about the wetlands and how to save them and why it is important to our enviroment to keep the wetlands safe.

I think that we will learn more about are wetlands so we can help save them. I hope that other people will try to think of the wetlands as well.

I think that I will learn the importance of our wetlands and how they affect our daily life. I will feel happy to have known that I have helped save a part of New Orleans from devistation.I enjoy learning about the importance of our wetlands.

I think that the seeds we grow will not just help the wildlife but everything that is growing because it would give more vegetation.

I think how to help with saving the wetlands and things like that.

I expect to learn that planting trees is not just planting trees it could save the wetlands.

I think saving the wetlands is an important part of the environment in Louisiana. If one person could just plant one cell or more in Louisiana just think how well the wetlands would be doing. This is a great and enjoyable project it will help people and future people save Louisiana.

i hope that we will see how the youth can help save states by not doing much.

I hope we will learn how to plant and take care of plants. I hope that we will learn about the wetlands when we are planting the plants. I hope more than half of the seeds grow

I think that we should plant more trees to help the inviroment. And kill nutria.

I can help by doing everything I will be asked to do at my own ability. i expect to gain a better a awareness of the wetlands.

we can find a way to stop deforestation in the wetlands and find a way to replant trees like we are in the area next to the art building. it will help the wetlands because the trees will hold the soil in place and in will prevent from erosion to happen.

i think i will learn that giving back to the environment is very important, and by doing the coastal roots project i can help protect stop the hurricanes to get worse.

I learned how important is is to help save the wetlands. I used to not really care about the wetlands that much until I figured out that they help slow down hurricanes and other storms. I think it was a good idea to plant those 3,000 seeds because if another hurricane comes, New Orleans would probably not be ready because a lot of our wetlands are destroyed. I learended how important saving the wetlands is.

I think that the Coastal Roots Project will help us learn that we need to preserve our wetlands. .I think people might start to realize then we need to act quickly to help our wetlands. If we do not get involved we could loose all of our wetlands. Wetlands are very important in many ways. They protect us from hurricanes hitting us too strongly. If we all work together we can save our wetlands.

I think that planting these trees can help the wetlands because the roots could help stop too much erosion. Also because the wetlands are losing much land and plants so we could restore that if we plant enough.

How Will Our Project Help?

Our project will save the wetlands because we will plant the Cypress and Maple tress in Bayou Segnette next year. The trees roots will help rebuilt and protect the wetlands by combining with the soil in the Bayou to make the soil stronger acting like a barrier from storms.

I think it will help by growing more cypruss that have been lost do to cyprus logging. I also hope to gain more knowledge on the loss of our Wetlands.

I think I helped the wetlands by planting the trees because with all our trees we might grow at least 100 trees. I think I got alot out of planting the trees because now understand why that in past history hurricanes have been weaker because of the storm protection that we don't have much of now.

I think that this will help the wetlands by helping to stop erosion. this will also cause species of plants to once again flourish. I think that the plants killed by invasive species will once again be in the wetlands. This project will ultimately help save the wetlands.

I think it will help us learn to teach others that the wetlands are important. I hope to gain respect for the wetlands and the creatures that live there

I think I could help wetlands by the planting project because when we plant the trees they will grow more in the wetlands and create more soil and give things more places to live. By making the wetlands bigger they will provide us better storm protection

I think that I will take more effect into saving the wetlands and preventing wetland lose. Planting trees in the wetland helps to rebuild them but also to renew the trees we have already lost.

I think by planting the seeds we can help the wetlands in a way that is not difficult to accomplish. The more people who plant the seeds, the more we will be helping the wetlands.

The project will help show us what a difference kids can make. I think it will help us see that every little bit you contribute makes a difference.

When i'm doing the coastal roots project, I will help the wetlands by planting trees and picking up trash in the wetlands.

I hope we help the wetlands. I think it was fun. It also was easier than I thought. I'm astonished that we plated 3000

This helps say that kids can make a difference. I think this will help us appreciate our wetlands more and will motivate us to help more.

I think by planting the trees it will help the soil stay together. The roots of the trees keep the soil together. I think it will aslo help the envierment by giving more oxegen in the air.
