Today the 6th grade worked all day to construct their can yard that will house their Bald Cypress trees until the Fall. Click on the comments to read more!

The 6th period class dug a trench and we put a tarp over the trench. Then the class put a cage around the area.

We put together a can yard yesterday. It was a blast. We were the third class to do this orject so we made the irragation system work and brought the seeds to the yard. When we took a picture they sprayed us with the irragation system!

Today, all of the 6th grade constructed a can yard. The first class that went, helped build the cages and put together the pipes for the gate. We also helped dig up the area for the gate. The first activity that we did was a little hard, but very fun. We had to dig a trench where the gate was going to be. After the trench was completed, we had to scrape up all the grass and roots out of the area. We then finished building the pipes, set them down on the trench, and dug the rest. We had to dig another right angle shaped trench connecting to the first trench. This was for the water pipes to go through. After all of that was completed, we let the other classes go to work. The other classes finished setting up the gate, and put the cans of seeds down into the ground. I thought that it was a fun thing to do,I really enjoyed it. B.P.
Today we built the can yard. It was a lot of hard work. We started by covering the gravel on the ground with a tarp. Then we built the fence. The fence is there to make sure no one meses up the plants. Finally we finished. The can yard is the best thing I think our class has ever put together.
